Job Purpose

Jobs at this level are responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the Security & Defense business unit. The role holder shall drive innovation, identify new business opportunities, and develop tailored solutions to meet the sector's needs. Duties must align with business policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Participate in developing and implementing the Advanced Industry Solutions plans, aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Lead and manage Security & Defense Business Development mandates, ensuring high performance standards.
  • Manage change within the department, supporting continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Identify industry trends to drive innovation and differentiation in the Security & Defense sector.
  • Develop sector-specific technical and business knowledge.
  • Formulate sector strategy and prioritize use cases.
  • Create tailored solutions addressing sector challenges and opportunities.
  • Define value propositions and go-to-market strategies for key use cases.
  • Advance opportunities through concept development, technical architecture, pitches, business cases, and PoC.
  • Establish partnerships with technology providers and innovators.
  • Identify and pursue PPPs and strategic opportunities, including equity partnerships and SPVs.
  • Analyze industry value chain plays and recommend strategies.
  • Support M&A activities, including due diligence and target evaluation.
  • Coordinate with other departments for concept development and share insights.
  • Act as a sector-specific industry think-tank.
  • Upskill Business Development resources on sector trends and strategies.
  • Use analytics to optimize solutions.
  • Develop market understanding and assess industry impact.
  • Engage with industry bodies to enhance presence and influence.
  • Create relevant content and thought leadership materials.

People Management Responsibilities

  • Set goals and KPIs for team members, ensuring effective performance management.
  • Plan and select manpower aligned with business plans.
  • Promote employee engagement and capability development through ongoing feedback and coaching.

Perform other related responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

Experience and Skills

Years of Experience: 8-10 years in security & defense business development within a telecommunications or technology context.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of the security & defense sector, market trends, and competitors.
  • Strong business development principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Education and Certifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Engineering; Master’s Degree preferred.

Certifications:

  • Certified Business Development Professional (CBDP) is recommended.
  • Certified Strategic Planner (CSP) is recommended.
