To be responsible for the performance of the ATM Search and Rescue services and the SAMCC day-to-day activities to ensure effective and efficient provision of coordination and notification of the search and rescue alerting services in the event of SAR accident and within a set KPIs, agreed budget, and adopted policies and procedures.

Search and Rescue Center Management
- Maintain a continuous state of readiness and monitor the SAMCC system for distress alert signals.
- Monitor all ARCC/SAMCC equipment and communication methods to ensure normal operation.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders during aviation incidents or accidents, ensuring timely notification and updates.
- Notify the SAR Center Leader of distress alerts, system malfunctions, or SAR exercises.
- Inform ATS units and other relevant agencies within KSA of distress alerts and coordinate search and rescue activities following established procedures.
- Assist in planning search and rescue operations for aviation incidents, defining search areas and roles of SAR assets.
- Ensure compliance with SAR agreements between GACA and international or local entities.
- Report occurrences and accidents related to security to the Aviation Security Sector at GACA.
- Oversee the performance of ATM Search and Rescue services and daily activities of SAMCC/ARCC.
- Implement backup procedures when primary systems are unavailable.
- Follow procedures for ELT-DT beacon activation and GADSS management according to ICAO and COSPAS-SARSAT standards.
- Record significant events and irregularities in the SAR logbook.
- Validate orbital/SARP data daily and support neighboring Mission Control Centers during exercises or missions.
- Manage registration of 406 MHz Emergency Beacons in national and COSPAS-SARSAT databases.
- Adhere to all SAR regulations, guidelines, and protocols, including IAMSAR.
- Review SAR documentation for quality and completeness.
- Follow procedures for system reconfiguration and satellite tracking adjustments.
- Conduct monthly weather forecast tests and report findings.
Exercises & Drills
- Coordinate with stakeholders for NOTAM and METAR reports during exercises and clearly communicate activity timings.
Coordination Activities
- Coordinate distress alert activities with other ANSPs, RCCs, MCCs, and relevant agencies within Jeddah FIR and globally.
Communication
- Report equipment outages to MED and SAR Center, conduct communication tests, and participate in SAR operational meetings.
Policies, Processes, and Procedures
- Ensure daily activities comply with policies and procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or MIS.
- Proficiency in English and computer applications, including MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
