Job description

The SCADA/RTU Site Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of SCADA and Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) systems for clients in onshore and offshore environments. The role requires strong technical expertise in industrial automation, communication protocols, and field service operations, with a focus on ensuring system reliability and compliance with HSE standards.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Install, configure, and test SCADA/RTU hardware and software at client sites.
  • Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to validate system functionality.
  • Conduct site surveys and provide technical recommendations for system deployment.

Troubleshooting & Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to:
  • SCADA software (e.g., OE SCADA, Emerson Control Wave RTU).
  • Communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870-5, OPC UA).
  • Field devices (sensors, actuators, PLCs).
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support during project execution.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Prepare and submit site reports, test records, and commissioning documentation.
  • Ensure alignment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, particularly for offshore assignments (OGUK certification required).
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and client teams to deliver projects on schedule.
  • Liaise with vendors and subcontractors for equipment and service coordination.

For this Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BEng) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automation, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in:
  • SCADA/RTU installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Travel Requirement: Up to 70% (onshore/offshore sites).
  • Environment: Field-based with exposure to industrial sites (oil & gas, utilities, etc.).
  • Physical Demands: May involve working at heights, or in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Emerson Control Wave RTU and OE SCADA systems.
  • Flow measurement applications (Flow Computers, AGA/API standards).
  • Willingness to travel frequently (onshore/offshore) as per project demands.
  • OGUK certification (or equivalent) for offshore work.
