DXC Technology Inc. seeks an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to lead custom development and integration activities within a dynamic environment. The role involves managing a team, translating specifications into technical designs, and ensuring compliance with development standards. Ideal candidates will have 8-12 years of ABAP experience, with exposure to various functional modules and certifications in SAP technology.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all SAP ABAP development and enhancement activities
Translate functional specifications into technical designs and ABAP programs
Oversee custom development for reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEF)
Guide team members on clean code principles, modularization, and object-oriented ABAP
Manage integration developments using IDoc, BAPI, RFC, OData, and Web Services
Coordinate with SAP BASIS and transport teams for code migration and release planning
Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and quality assurance
Collaborate with functional teams to resolve development-related issues
Ensure compliance with development standards and audit controls
Maintain development documentation, testing protocols, and support procedures
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP for SAP NetWeaver or S/4HANA
Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) is a plus
Experience
8–12 years of SAP ABAP experience, including at least 2 years in a Expertly or lead developer role
Hands-on development in ECC and S/4HANA environments
Experience working across multiple functional modules (FI, MM, SD, HR, etc.)
Exposure to SAP upgrade, data migration, and SAP Fiori integration projects
At least 5 years of experience in the banking sector
Technical & Functional Skills
Expertise in:
Classical & Object-Oriented ABAP
Reports (Classical, ALV), Enhancements (User Exits, BADIs, Enhancement Spots)
IDoc, BAPI, RFC, OData Services
Adobe Forms, Smart Forms, SAPScripts
Data Dictionary, Modular Function Groups, Classes, Interfaces
Experience with SAP Gateway & UI5 (optional but preferred)
Familiarity with performance tuning tools (ST05, SAT, SQL Trace, Runtime Analysis)
Version control practices, transport tracking, and change request management
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
Effective communication with functional teams and business stakeholders
Team leadership and mentorship capabilities
Focus on quality, documentation, and governance
Ability to manage multiple developments across projects and deadlines
Customer-oriented mindset with emphasis on issue resolution and timely delivery
Work Environment & Conditions
Consulting or delivery environment with multiple SAP development streams
Travel may be required within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Collaboration with functional consultants, BASIS team, and external partners
Participation in testing cycles, go-live cutovers, and post-deployment support
Continuous learning aligned with SAP development standards and S/4HANA advancements
Role requires adaptability to both waterfall and agile project delivery models
