Job description

Job Summary:

The Sales Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and driving retail sales activities in the assigned territory within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. This role ensures execution of sales strategies, achievement of sales targets, development of strong customer relationships, and effective management of the sales team on the ground.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of Sales Representatives in the assigned area.
  • Monitor daily sales performance and ensure achievement of monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Implement retail strategies to increase product visibility, market share, and availability in key outlets.
  • Conduct regular market visits to check product availability, competitor activities, and compliance with planograms and pricing policies.
  • Ensure effective merchandising and product display in alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key retail customers and distributors.
  • Analyze sales data and generate reports on sales performance, customer trends, and market insights.
  • Support in forecasting demand and managing stock levels across outlets.
  • Provide coaching and on-the-job training for sales staff to improve performance.
  • Coordinate with the marketing and supply chain departments for promotional activities and stock availability.
  • Handle escalations and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in FMCG retail sales, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of the FMCG industry and retail market dynamics.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing field sales teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel within assigned territory.
