Job Description
- Be familiar with hotel products, rates, and promotions at all times. Maintain up-to-date understanding of company offerings and involve in cross-selling when required.
- Monitor competitors' strengths and weaknesses, providing weekly updates after visiting their properties for tracking purposes.
- Provide ongoing market intelligence by monitoring business sources and segments.
- Represent the hotel at trade fairs, functions, and related events as directed.
- Conduct sales blitzes in the local city or outstation as per schedule.
- Participate in hotel activities including promotions, sales blitzes, entertainment, and other operational areas as directed.
- Target prospective and existing customer organizations for effective multi-department selling.
- Attend to customer service requests promptly, within 24 hours.
- Assist the DOS in pursuing new market segments and preparing proposals.
- Develop strong, secure, and productive business relations within the assigned portfolio.
- Maintain positive communication of the hotel image to existing and potential customers.
- Maximize revenues and control costs through proactive management.
- Handle guest and employee inquiries courteously and efficiently.
- Maximize occupancy and average rate through creative and selective selling.
- Report month-end and year-to-date room night and revenue accounts to the DOS, identifying revenue opportunities.
- Report industry and local market trends.
- Plan and execute cost-effective sales trips at least 45 days in advance.
- Maintain a calendar to meet deadlines and sales trip schedules, including forecasts and reports.
- Keep accurate records of leads, accounts, and solicitation efforts.
- Contact and entertain clients during site visits and through invitations.
- Respond to all correspondence promptly.
- Prepare and transmit weekly Call Reports to the DOS.
- Establish monthly reports summarizing activities, prospects, trends, and competitor analysis, and attend monthly sales/rooms division meetings.
- Achieve key figures from key accounts through proper planning and action.
- Sign contracts in accordance with the official Rate Policy, in coordination with the DOS.
- Conduct rate market surveys and advise management of market trends.
- Discuss and get approval for special deals outside guidelines prior to offering.
- Familiarize with emergency procedures and be prepared for emergencies.
- Review relevant company documentation and operational standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned, respecting Rixos core behaviors: Trust, Relationship, Entrepreneurship, and Drive.
- Assist in Task Force Teams for new openings.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a diploma in vocational hospitality, with 3-4 years experience in a 4-5 star hotel.
