Job Description

  1. Be familiar with hotel products, rates, and promotions at all times. Maintain up-to-date understanding of company offerings and involve in cross-selling when required.
  2. Monitor competitors' strengths and weaknesses, providing weekly updates after visiting their properties for tracking purposes.
  3. Provide ongoing market intelligence by monitoring business sources and segments.
  4. Represent the hotel at trade fairs, functions, and related events as directed.
  5. Conduct sales blitzes in the local city or outstation as per schedule.
  6. Participate in hotel activities including promotions, sales blitzes, entertainment, and other operational areas as directed.
  7. Target prospective and existing customer organizations for effective multi-department selling.
  8. Attend to customer service requests promptly, within 24 hours.
  9. Assist the DOS in pursuing new market segments and preparing proposals.
  10. Develop strong, secure, and productive business relations within the assigned portfolio.
  11. Maintain positive communication of the hotel image to existing and potential customers.
  12. Maximize revenues and control costs through proactive management.
  13. Handle guest and employee inquiries courteously and efficiently.
  14. Maximize occupancy and average rate through creative and selective selling.
  15. Report month-end and year-to-date room night and revenue accounts to the DOS, identifying revenue opportunities.
  16. Report industry and local market trends.
  17. Plan and execute cost-effective sales trips at least 45 days in advance.
  18. Maintain a calendar to meet deadlines and sales trip schedules, including forecasts and reports.
  19. Keep accurate records of leads, accounts, and solicitation efforts.
  20. Contact and entertain clients during site visits and through invitations.
  21. Respond to all correspondence promptly.
  22. Prepare and transmit weekly Call Reports to the DOS.
  23. Establish monthly reports summarizing activities, prospects, trends, and competitor analysis, and attend monthly sales/rooms division meetings.
  24. Achieve key figures from key accounts through proper planning and action.
  25. Sign contracts in accordance with the official Rate Policy, in coordination with the DOS.
  26. Conduct rate market surveys and advise management of market trends.
  27. Discuss and get approval for special deals outside guidelines prior to offering.
  28. Familiarize with emergency procedures and be prepared for emergencies.
  29. Review relevant company documentation and operational standards.
  30. Perform other duties as assigned, respecting Rixos core behaviors: Trust, Relationship, Entrepreneurship, and Drive.
  31. Assist in Task Force Teams for new openings.
  32. Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a diploma in vocational hospitality, with 3-4 years experience in a 4-5 star hotel.
