About the job:

Position: Sales Account Manager: Distribution

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support efforts to consistently grow the base of referral sources

• Actively manage short-and long term leads from external referral sources

• Develop a call schedule to adequately cover territory

• Cover assigned territory or group of accounts promoting products and services

• Establish customer profit margins

• Convey a sense of expertise in services and capabilities

• As a member of the Sales and Marketing Team and together you are accountable for meeting the monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and sales goals of the company.

• Maintain personal productivity and quality standards that make possible attractive financial returns so that we may continue to provide excellent service to our customers and ensure job security and career growth for our staff

• Maintain support for customers and provide product application

• Provide value-added services including, but not limited to: Documented cost savings; Plant surveys; Technical support; Product training

• Handle after hours call duty

• Carry out other sales functions as assigned by Manager

• Honor/keep commitments and follow through on all account issues and projects

• Coordinating with customer service for status on orders from manufacturers in ensuring the delivery commitment to clients is met.

• Maintaining and expand the database of prospects of the organization

• Emphasizing service or product features and benefits, discussing credit terms, quoting prices

• maintains the overall relationship of the account and is responsible for creating value and client engagement at all levels of the organization and within all lines of business.

• Engage clients on business challenges and help them resolve or mitigate health, safety, and environmental (HSE) challenges.

• Meet and exceed sales revenue goals.

• Meet and exceed strategic objectives to grow national and multi-national accounts and cross-sell additional products/services.

• Accurately identify and forecast sales opportunities.

• Act as a leader and role model within the organization.

• Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of assigned markets, prices, legislation, suppliers, industry trends, and contract structure.

• Navigate internal/external economic factors (cost, margins, profit impact of decisions) affecting assigned areas.

• Understand multi-site contract negotiations.

• Other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field.

• Safety Products, Tools, Welding Supply experience

• Strong interpersonal, negotiation skills and the ability to network with suppliers

• Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills

• Sales Management experience in an Industrial Environment

• Strong persuasive and interpersonal skills and a sales aptitude

• Ability to work under minimal or no supervision and good time management

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and good math skills

• At least 5 years’ experience in Sales or Business Development
