JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLE PURPOSE

Assist in Planning, implementing, execution and monitoring of Safety & Security activities of SGS operation, the job Holder is also responsible to ensure proper promotion of safety and security culture across SGS operations.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Review, ensure and maintain the safety and security policies and their meeting the regulatory requirements in GACAR 5.21.
  2. Define the accountability of safety within SGS safety policy for the individuals specified as per GACAR 5.23.
  3. Identify the level of management with the authority decisions regarding safety and security risk tolerance.
  4. Review and update the designation and responsibilities of the requirement safety management personnel as per GACAR 5.25.
  5. Ensure that the emergency response plan is developed and addresses and include the requirements as per GACAR 5.27.
  6. Develop, review, and maintain the policy regarding the consequences of using psychoactive substances while performing safety-sensitive functions.
  7. Provide education and training “Prevention program” which must include the display and distribution of informational material pertaining to the problematic use of psychoactive substances in the aviation workplace.

Distributing and disseminate information (Safety Bulletin/ Reports) to all concerned departments.

  1. Place safety and security at the forefront of people’s minds to promote and create a healthy and safe working environment.
  2. Communicate lessons learnt and information to help improve safety and security performance.
  3. Develop the safety and security awareness of individuals, groups and organizations and empower them to make safe and secure choices.
  4. Write and produce leaflets, posters, videos, and brochures to aid safety and security promotion in different environments.
  5. Designs and applies quantitative and qualitative research (e.g., survey development, focus group design and facilitation, data analysis and interpretation, write reports, etc.).
  6. Plans, develops, and implements safety and security events, workshops, and outreach activities within the organization.
  7. Comprehensively review the impact and success of initiatives, recommending any modifications to improve effectiveness as part of the strategic organizational safety and security Improvement Plan.
  8. Coordinate with operational stakeholders to integrate safety and security into daily practices through committees, campaigns, and awareness sessions.
  9. Manage and monitor Safety, security, ERP training of all employees in coordination with SGS Academy.
  10. Develop, maintain and monitor required and voluntary programs to improve organizational safety and security culture.
  11. Establish and integrate a voluntary program for employees to strengthen organizational resilience during times of crisis
  12. Develop and implement security promotion strategies and programs in alignment with ICAO Annex 17 and the National Aviation Security Program.
  13. Collaborate in assessing security risks and vulnerabilities and develop mitigation measures.
  14. Liaise with external stakeholders, such as regulatory authorities and law enforcement agencies, to exchange security-related information and best practices.
  15. Provide timely reports and updates to management on security promotion initiatives, achievements, and challenges.
