Job description

Company Overview:

Our client, a well-established construction company based in Kuwait, is expanding its operations into KSA. They are seeking a motivated and experienced Health and Safety Officer for their MEP, and Fit-Out projects in Dammam Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities & Role:

  • Report and present safety-related status and issues to the EH&S team and business groups.
  • Develop and/or implement programs to minimize risk to employees, customers, and the environment.
  • Gather EH&S information and evaluate results.
  • Participate in compliance evaluation of programs, and facilities per company and governmental requirements.
  • Participate in the evaluation and analysis of concept and feasibility studies.
  • Investigate accidents and specify corrective action programs/measures/plans.
  • Evaluate and specify work methods, design requirements, procedures, and policies.
  • Administer EH&S safety training programs.
  • Participate in compliance evaluation of products, and material, and conduct the necessary tests on them.
  • The use of NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, and other investigation and assessment methods.
  • Evaluate products submitted for testing for quality/safety issues.
  • Prepare a variety of samples for testing using prescribed testing methods, following testing standards/specifications, and providing direction to techs as required.
  • Evaluate test results data.
  • Prepare verbal and written communication to internal and external clients, regarding administrative and technical issues, with direction.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Safety, Construction, Environmental Engineering, or any similar field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Knowledgeable in understanding EHS standards and policies.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements, codes, and standards in their EH&S discipline.
  • Solid working knowledge and experience in NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, and other regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrate an expanded conceptual knowledge in own discipline with minimal supervision.
  • Explain complex information to others in a straightforward manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a group setting, with colleagues and clients.
