Job purpose statement


  • Implementing safe processes of work and behavioral practices at the site.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by implementing and maintaining comprehensive safety programs, protocols, and standards.
  • Responsible for identifying and mitigating potential hazards, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
  • Emphasizes the focus on preventing accidents before they happen through hazard identification and mitigation.

Scope


  • Monitor health and safety management system, assess risk, and support the site base services management to design strategies to reduce potential hazards within an assigned workplace or geographic area.
  • Communicates safety concerns, observations and findings to management and relevant airport management within capabilities and internal alignment.
  • Up-to date with new protocols/standards and safety management systems.

Qualification and abilities


  • Proven experience as safety officer or within a related field.
  • In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g., OSHA/EPA/SBC/GOSI/HRSD) standards and procedures
  • Preferred knowledge in ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and safety management systems.
  • Bachelor in safety management, engineering or relevant field is preferred.
  • Certificate in occupational health and safety is preferred.
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials, dangerous goods, or practices.
  • Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Office 365, Windows, specialized safety software for incident reporting risk assessment and management.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety policies or topics.
  • Understanding of safety regulations, risk assessment methods, and the knowledge of automation equipment or machinery.
  • Identifying potential hazards and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities


  • Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards associated with automated systems.
  • Analyse work processes and flows to identify safety risks and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Ensure that safety procedures are integrated into the design, installation, and operation of automated systems.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans.
  • Support the managers and onsite team to ensure HSE compliance with planning, coordinating, and implementing of effective company HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure that the department objectives are met.
  • Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and ensure the company’s practices comply with these changes on site.
  • Ensuring safety inspections and audits are completed at the prescribed intervals and that corrective actions are taken to correct identified deficiencies.
  • Assist with developing HSE plans that comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct HSE training, toolbox meetings, and ensure drills are implemented as part of the company’s HSE program.
  • Leading or participating in the investigation of workplace accidents and non-compliance reports and prepare/submit lessons learned to the regional HSE Manager, in alignment with the site base services management.
  • Provide support to the regional HSE Manager by maintaining a visible presence on the field performance.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for safety audits, Inspections, and incidents.
  • Produce and update reports within specified time as required.

  • Oversee from HSE perspective the installations, maintenance, disposal of substances to comply with company policies.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
  • Investigate and record incidents to determine the root causes with defined corrective actions to be taken.
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to site base services management and regional HSE Manager.
  • Conduct HSE trainings and orientation to all employees.
