Job description

Title:

Safety Officer

Role Overview:

This predominantly site-based role reports to the Project HSE Manager and is responsible for coordinating and supervising all activities undertaken by the project and contractors. The Safety Officer provides guidance and expertise on project safety requirements, communicates with project teams and contractors regarding field activities, and ensures timely sharing of necessary information to facilitate work execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Project Management Team with HSE support, working alongside project superintendents and supervisors.
  2. Coordinate activities to minimize interface issues and risks.
  3. Monitor and review site activities, ensuring contractors execute work promptly and safely.
  4. Promote a safe working environment, ensuring all HSE goals are achieved.
  5. Prepare and manage work permits as applicable.
  6. Evaluate and provide feedback on contractors’ competencies, procedures, and work processes.
  7. Ensure staffing and competencies of contractors are maintained throughout the project, aligned with manpower and execution plans.
  8. Develop and deliver project safety training packages to the Project Management Team and contractors' management.
  9. Conduct thorough investigations of accidents and incidents.
Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 5+ years of experience in related projects (oil & gas / Petrochemical plants).
  • Strong supervisory background with practical experience in multicultural environments.
  • Education: Safety Diploma and relevant safety courses.

Preference will be given to candidates from Saudi Arabia.
