About the role:
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the overall safety procedures within the company or project. This includes ensuring equipment safety, compliance with uniforms, following up on injury occurrences and investigating their causes, as well as handling all security issues.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and implement emergency plans according to company policies and procedures.
- Develop safety regulations and guiding signage.
- Summarize Safety Patrol and Barricade Information for each region and coordinate with the responsible line manager to address deviations from Mitsubishi standards.
- Conduct Toolbox Talks during site visits, ensuring safety instructions are communicated, understood, and followed by field technicians; maintain records.
- Oversee overall safety procedures, including equipment safety and professional clothing compliance.
- Perform periodic maintenance and inspections of fire extinguishers.
- Monitor site security and safety measures.
- Identify unsafe working conditions and implement corrective actions.
- Check expiry dates of first aid kits and condition of welfare facilities, ensuring procedures meet contract or client requirements.
- Conduct safety inspections regularly.
- Observe work crews for safety discipline and report violations such as failure to use safety gear.
- Instruct workers on the proper use of safety equipment and safe work practices.
- Inspect Mitsubishi facilities, including rented ones like warehouses, offices, and accommodations, for HSE compliance.
- Inspect Mitsubishi vehicles and heavy equipment, such as boom trucks and forklifts, for safety standards.
- Identify best HSE practices and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate corrective actions with line managers following safety patrols.
- Recommend and help implement improvements to HSE policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislative and procedural requirements.
- Encourage continuous improvement in systems, processes, and safety practices, aligning with HSE leading practices.
- Monitor daily activities to ensure policy and procedure compliance.
- Authorize work stoppages in imminent danger situations.
- Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental policies to protect employees and comply with legislation.
- Report incidents and accidents to relevant parties to address and mitigate risks.
- Stay updated on legislative changes and incorporate them into safety policies and practices.
- Participate in recruiting key talent for the HSE department.
- Guide and support team members in their operations, set performance objectives, and evaluate their performance regularly.

Profile:
- 3-5 years of experience in the construction or engineering industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or a related field.
- IOSH Managing Safely Certification and OSHA 30-Hour Certification in Occupational Safety & Health for Construction.
- Certified First Aider from an approved institution such as the Red Crescent, Ministry of Health, or a recognized third-party institute.
