Job description

The Rotating Field Supervisor will oversee the field execution of commissioning and start-up activities for compressors and associated rotating equipment within a large-scale refinery project.
This role ensures that all systems are installed, tested, and started up in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the commissioning and start-up of various types of compressors (centrifugal, reciprocating, screw, etc.) and their auxiliary systems.
  • Ensure all rotating equipment is installed, aligned, and tested per OEM and project specifications.
  • Lead field teams and interface with OEM representatives, EPC contractors, and client personnel.
  • Review and validate pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures, checklists, and punch lists.
  • Monitor and report progress, issues, and risks during commissioning phases.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards during all activities.
  • Participate in system walkdowns, mechanical completion checks, and turnover processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to rotating equipment during commissioning and start-up.
  • Support performance testing and handover to operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in rotating equipment commissioning, with at least 5 years in oil & gas or refinery projects.
  • Strong knowledge of compressor systems, lube oil systems, seal systems, and vibration monitoring.
  • Familiarity with international standards (API, ASME, ISO)
  • Experience working in multicultural, remote, and high-risk environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English
