Job Description

We are seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer who specializes in Compressors & Steam Turbines to join our Rotating Equipment Division (RED) under the Equipment Consulting Services Department.

RED is responsible for providing high-level technical consultations and support to all the company’s operating facilities, joint ventures, and major projects from the early stage to startup.

As a Rotating Equipment Engineer, your role will be to develop value-adding concepts and technologies to address corporate challenges and enhance operations. Additionally, maintaining Saudi Aramco’s mandatory engineering standards and best practices related to various types of rotating equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical consultations for equipment including dynamic (e.g., centrifugal), positive displacement (e.g., reciprocating) compressors, gearboxes, and steam turbines.
• Specify and review equipment designs, selections, ratings, and specifications for new projects, including modifications to existing equipment.
• Maintain and improve the company’s standards for compressors, gearboxes, and steam turbines.
• Develop and introduce new technologies and innovative ideas to address business challenges or enhance equipment reliability, availability, and performance.
• Lead in developing and recommending solutions to solve plant machinery technical issues.
• Provide work direction, technical advice, and mentoring to teammates and junior engineers.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized and approved program (advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in Rotating Equipment, with a focus on compressors and steam turbines within refineries, chemical plants, gas plants, or similar facilities.
• Experience in analyzing performance, troubleshooting, selecting, and repairing process gas compressors, steam turbines, and gearboxes, including auxiliary components such as seals, bearings, and lube oil systems.
• Detailed knowledge of international codes and API standards related to rotating equipment, especially compressors, steam turbines, and gearboxes.
• Category II vibration analyst certification.
• Minimum of two recent engineering reports or case histories authored by you on rotating equipment, including compressors and steam turbines problems.
