Job Description
  1. Have a thorough knowledge of the entire hotel services and facilities.
  2. Answer inquiries regarding room rates, outlets, and room locations.
  3. Be familiar with all aspects of the reservation systems.
  4. Handle reservation requests using good listening and communication skills to gather necessary information.
  5. Post advance deposits and maintain accurate records of deposits.
  6. Process rooming lists and group blocks, noting special requests and billing procedures.
  7. File and process reservation correspondence, ensuring all files are current and organized.
  8. Understand the functions of Front Desk, Sales, and Accounts departments and their relation to Reservations.
  9. Adhere to hotel policies and procedures.
  10. Stay informed about rate changes and group inquiries.
  11. Complete daily shift tasks and assist colleagues as needed.
  12. Manage inventory and monitor available room types throughout the day.
  13. Understand departmental goals and projections for average rate and occupancy.
  14. Accurately accommodate and document special requests.
  15. Select the most suitable room type to meet guest needs and maximize revenue.
  16. Explain guarantee and cancellation policies to guests.
  17. Describe room features and amenities, and promote hotel services to guests.
  18. Utilize sales techniques to assist guests with reservations, personalize calls, and suggest alternatives or refer to sister properties when necessary.
  19. Respond to guest inquiries about hotel facilities, services, rates, and promotions.
  20. Provide confirmation/cancellation numbers and relay this information clearly, offering email or fax options.
  21. Identify guest reservation needs through open-ended questions.
  22. Apply upselling techniques to enhance property revenue.
  23. Recognize repeat guests using appropriate codes.
  24. Perform other duties as reasonably requested by management, including assistance with large events or hotel functions.
  25. Participate in Task Force Teams for new openings.
Qualifications
