Overview

We are seeking a Renewables Power Engineer to join our Renewable Project Development and Support Division.

The division performs feasibility studies, site-specific engineering analysis, design reviews, and evaluation of energy requirements for Saudi Aramco facilities at residential, commercial, and industrial scales. We provide technical evaluation for new energy startups, investment ideas, pilot projects, and support the company’s technology and energy ventures investment decisions.

As a Renewables Power Engineer, you will provide technical evaluation for new energy startups, investment ideas, and pilot projects. You will support the company’s technology and energy ventures investment decisions. Your responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies, including long-term master plans for new installations, performance assessments, upgrades, replacements, and retrofits for both grid-interactive and standalone solar energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop long-term master plans for innovative and cost-effective design strategies to meet sustainability goals across different operating areas of Saudi Aramco.
  • Conduct economic analyses and evaluate project alternatives to recommend investments with maximum Net Present Value (NPV).
  • Review technical studies to ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco project procedures, including equipment reliability, condition assessment, obsolescence, and standards.
  • Perform solar resource data analysis for feasibility studies and system design, including parameters like PR, yield, availability, and production.
  • Conduct site visits for load profiling and other studies using power analyzers.
  • Perform power and energy flow simulations to optimize solar PV and energy storage system sizes based on load profiles and operational constraints.
  • Understand operational requirements, site feasibility, and system design, overseeing complete project execution.
  • Design both grid-interactive and standalone systems for industrial applications, including layouts, schematic diagrams, and balance of systems calculations.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Renewables Engineering; a Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • At least seven (7) years of engineering design experience in Solar PV, concentrated solar, and energy storage technologies.
  • CEM certification is advantageous.
  • Strong technical expertise in Solar PV and energy storage systems, including design, optimization, assessment, and grid interconnection.
  • Experience with solar plant design, installation, commissioning, and standards compliance.
  • Proficiency with analysis tools like PVsyst, HOMER, AutoCAD, PVGIS, and others.
  • Experience with Green Hydrogen, Fuel Cells, and Wind energy is a plus.
