Job Description:

The Release Management Head oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases across the enterprise. The role ensures that releases are delivered on schedule, with high quality, minimal risk, and strong alignment across development, QA, operations, and business teams.

Experience & Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 12+ years in Release management, DevOps, or software delivery, with leadership experience.
• Expertise in Agile, CI/CD pipelines, change management, and risk governance.

Responsibilities:

• Define and manage release strategies, processes, and governance frameworks.
• Lead release planning, readiness assessments, deployment coordination, and post-release validations.
• Standardize release processes, governance, and documentation to ensure consistent execution.
• Collaborate with software engineering, QA, DevOps, product management, and business units to align on release goals and priorities.
• Coordinate cross-team release activities, risk assessments, and Go/No-Go decisions.
• Manage enterprise release calendars and ensure visibility of major initiatives.
• Ensure strong quality assurance practices are embedded into release management activities and ensure release gate, audits and controls.
• Align release management with Agile, DevOps, and ITIL best practices.
• Communicate release plans, risks, and status updates to senior leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation of release processes.

Certifications (Good to Have):

• PMP, ITIL Expert, SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) Certification, or equivalent leadership certifications.
• ITIL 4 Managing Professional (Change and Release Management focus)
