Hatch is seeking a Regional Rail Director for our Middle East operations based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will lead programs and pursuits with a team of multidisciplinary rail professionals focusing on Middle East projects. This entrepreneurial position allows you to leverage Hatch and our global team of over 1,000 rail experts and 9,000 staff for your success.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the rail industry, leading projects over $50 million in capital value, and securing similar projects in the Gulf States and wider Middle East. Strong interpersonal skills and client interaction are crucial, as well as being a trusted advisor and partner to clients and contractors.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify pursuits, develop win strategies, build teams, and secure work
  • Contribute to the Global Rail Leadership team to grow the practice
  • Manage major technical programs, controlling scope, schedule, and budget
  • Organize, manage, and motivate staff to meet program goals
  • Manage owner and stakeholder interests
  • Present ideas and concepts to owners, contractors, and others
  • Build internal and external partnerships to achieve project goals
  • Review work and provide constructive feedback
  • Promote Hatch through industry interactions and develop new opportunities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred
  • Professional Engineering License and PMP preferred
  • 15+ years in rail infrastructure, vehicles, signaling, or systems integration, with 5+ years in the Middle East
  • Proven ability to secure projects over $5m annually as proposal leader
  • 8+ years on projects over $50m in capital value, managing multidisciplinary systems
  • Experience in specification, engineering procedures, standards, financial management, and estimating
  • Knowledge of railway operations, safety, RAMS, and related standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and client education
