A leading technology firm in Riyadh is seeking a Regional Environmental Engineer to manage environmental compliance at AWS data centers across Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, experience in regulatory assessments, and fluency in Arabic. You will develop compliance standards, conduct audits, and drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization. This role requires travel within Saudi Arabia and offers a collaborative environment.
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running by supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continual access to the innovations customers rely on. The Regional Environmental Engineer (REE) will be responsible for environmental compliance at Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The REE will develop standards and policies to support regulatory compliance and provide environmental compliance guidance for regional operations and construction teams. The individual will complete environmental performance analysis, establish and monitor metrics, and guide the teams in implementation of Amazon environmental standards. The REE will work with internal and external partners that include government entities, contractors, consultants, design, construction, operations and other key stakeholders. This position is based in Jeddah and will require regular domestic travel and occasional international travel.
Responsibilities:
The AWS Environmental team is an expanding and dynamic group responsible for enabling AWS's growth worldwide and ensuring compliance of AWS's global operations, including physical data centers, other AWS facilities, and customer-facing initiatives. The team architects and implements AWS's global environmental programs, defines and implements risk and compliance systems, and drives continuous improvement; it oversees standards, tools, auditing, metrics, and employee training, and engages with all AWS business units to provide scalable environmental compliance strategies that support current and future objectives while complying with environmental regulations.
