Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a Range Safety Supervisor (RSS) for the Air to Ground Range facility. The role requires a skilled former fast jet pilot to oversee operations and ensure safe training environments for the Saudi Defence Force. Candidates must possess a strong understanding of Link 16 Operations and maintain effective communication and management of support staff. This position supports the strategic goals of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's defense initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Former fast jet pilot with minimum flight lead experience.
  • Experience in Air to Ground Ranges preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of range targets.

Responsibilities

  • Air to Ground Range is an RSAF owned and controlled facility which supports Saudi Defence Force air to ground weapon training in accordance with RSAF Orders.
  • The Flying Wing Commander (FWC) or his delegate officer is responsible for the Air to Ground Range facility.
  • The RSS will be assigned to the Flying Wing to ensure the Air to Ground Range facility is adequately manned and ready to support planned Air to Ground Range flight attack activities. He will operate under the daily management of the FWC or his delegate. However job responsibilities, boundaries and tasking will be determined by the RSAF Air to Ground Range directives.
  • The RSS duties includes but are not limited to:
  • The Management of support staff to ensure the air to ground range is fit for use.
  • Routine inspections and maintenance of air to ground targets.
  • Functional maintenance of the range support equipment and radios.
  • Range Safety within the range boundaries in accordance with Range Orders.
  • Ensuring no unauthorised access during the air to ground flying activities.
  • Operational Control of aircraft and vehicles within the air to ground range boundaries.
  • Provide a weather advisory service to aircrew operating within the air to ground range.
  • The RSS may be required to support RSAF air to ground range activities during air exercises inside the KSA.

Job Requirements

The following qualifications and experience for this post:

  • Essential
  • The job applicant must be a former fast jet pilot, minimum flight lead.
  • Desirable
  • Former aircrew member with at least one-year’s experience in Air to Ground Ranges preferably with certificate.
  • The successful applicant should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and be willing to work in a team to achieve the management of the Air to Ground range task requirements.
  • The post requires X military a high understanding of Link 16 Operations,
  • The appointment will normally be from an external source.
