Job description

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Rail Tunnels Senior Manager to join our dynamic team working on the City Transport initiatives, specifically focused on the Primary Urban Axis project. In this pivotal role, you will manage the design and construction of tunnel systems for the rail network, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.

Your expertise in tunnel engineering and project management will be essential in driving forward the successful delivery of this large-scale infrastructure project, contributing to Qiddiya’s vision of creating a premier entertainment and cultural destination in Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, design, and construction management of rail tunnel systems, ensuring high-quality outcomes that meet project objectives.
  • Oversee the coordination of interdisciplinary teams, including civil, geotechnical, and MEP engineers, to ensure the integrated delivery of tunnel projects.
  • Review and approve technical submissions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address project challenges.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and project partners, to manage expectations and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement within the tunnel engineering team.
  • Document and present progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • At least 15 years of experience in tunnel engineering, with significant experience in large-scale rail infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of managing complex tunnel engineering projects from design through to construction.
  • Strong understanding of tunneling techniques, including TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) and NATM (New Austrian Tunneling Method).
  • Exceptional leadership skills coupled with project management proficiency, capable of guiding cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to think strategically and implement solutions.
