Job Purpose:
Performs Quality Control (QC) inspections on train parts and sub-assemblies, ensuring all preventive inspection tasks are completed correctly with sample inspections.
Key Result Areas:
- Performs QC inspections on train parts and sub-assemblies.
- Conducts visual inspections to ensure conformance to quality standards.
- Identifies non-conformance issues.
- Follows procedures, checklists, engineering drawings, and instructions.
- Uses measuring tools such as scales, tape, calipers, micrometers, and combination squares; capable of using both English and Metric systems.
- Records inspection data accurately and thoroughly.
- Reads and interprets engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Familiar with quality standards and technical specifications.
- Manages quality to meet customer requirements.
- Maintains quality inspection and product release programs for incoming, in-process, and finished goods.
- Performs timely product inspections.
- Ensures equipment safety, calibration, and maintenance.
- Prepares and submits reports to the quality manager.
- Conducts defect, rework, and repair inspections.
- Performs inspections at customer sites for entire railcars.
- Handles defect, rework, and modification inspections.
- Prepares all related documentation.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Diploma in Quality or related technical field.
- Experience in a similar quality-focused role, preferably in Rolling Stock.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of quality and EHS standards.
- Experience promoting safe working practices in safety-critical environments.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
