The Quality Engineer provides leadership to ensure that the manufacturing process and finished products comply with all applicable regulatory requirements, customer, and company expectations for the manufacturing of quality and safe products. This key role focuses on optimization, digitization, Kaizen, and innovations related to quality and factory initiatives. Reports to the Site Quality Leader.

Operational Quality AssuranceWhat will your main responsibilities be?- Develop, lead, and drive optimization and Kaizen activities related to top plant and quality losses.
- Maintain, develop, and utilize operational knowledge of various IT support systems used for Quality applications.
- Define Statistical Process Control methods for setting targets and limits for operational areas. Support innovation activities within the supply chain and collaborate with internal and external customers.
- Manage and ensure compliance with the quality management system through communication, training, and audits at all levels.
- Lead data collection, analysis, and assignment to standard Quality loss trees to support operational KPIs reporting.
- Utilize SAP QM and Unilever specifications, including SAP PLM & ECC, supporting verification for quality purposes.
- Track and analyze consumer complaint data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Report and communicate results, issues, and improvements to stakeholders.
- Interpret, apply, and enforce company policies, programs, regulations, and safety/environmental rules.
- Ensure GMP and HACCP compliance in all manufacturing and packing areas.
- Develop Quality gate controls (Q points / CCPs) at critical stages of operations in collaboration with manufacturing and logistics teams.
- Ensure timely execution of Quality-related projects by following up with project owners.
- Support procedures to control non-conforming materials and products.
- Participate in quality improvement activities addressing customer, consumer issues, and PQS gaps.
- Support implementation and verification of GMP standards for category/technology as applicable.
- Assist in ongoing compliance assessments for received materials and packaging control programs.
Instrumentation and Analytical Support- Implement and verify calibration and maintenance programs for inspection, measuring, and testing equipment. Coordinate lab equipment capability studies.
- Develop processes to eliminate quality defects in production lines and processes.
- Implement SPC (Six Sigma), Product/Process parameter controls, PFMEA, and lead digitalization initiatives in QA.
UMS Support- Co-lead Quality Pillar activities within UMS and provide technical expertise to troubleshoot quality issues.
- Facilitate UMS activities with QM members, coordinating with PEs and technical teams to implement Quality Maintenance on finishing lines and manufacturing operations.
People and Management- Assess training and development needs for Quality Technicians.
- Manage and train factory staff in statistical methods for production analysis.
- Promote quality engagement among employees and work closely with PEs and operators to develop a quality-centric culture.
What you need to succeedExperiences & Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in FMCG manufacturing, with a background in Quality or Analytical Laboratory.
- Proficiency in Power BI, MS Office, SAP/ERP.
- Knowledge of SPC.
