Position Summary
The overall job purpose of the Quality Engineer is to manage and control all quality and safety-related aspects of the business, support the QA & Safety Manager, and ensure compliance with all standards and requirements concerning quality and safety.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the organization's safety-related policies and procedures
- Support and drive all quality and safety issues of the MRO
- Responsible for the internal occurrence reporting system JetSafe (software)
- Perform investigations on all reported occurrences, including monitoring follow-up by supervisors, staff, operators, airport, etc.
- Coordinate quality and safety-related issues with the local airport, authorities, and customers
- Hold overall responsibility for staff training, including developing, implementing, and maintaining a Training Management System
- Identify local training requirements and support the Quality Manager in competence management
- Ensure training records are available at all times, especially for audits
- Manage local QMS & SMS documentation
- Ensure all QMS & SMS procedures are in place and followed
- Identify potential hazards and perform risk assessments
- Coordinate and conduct audits for subcontracted companies and suppliers
- Assist with external audits from operators
- Analyze data from audits and reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented and monitored
- Update and review manuals, procedures, and checklists
- Create awareness of quality and safety within the organization
- Conduct internal inspections and spot checks
- Promote safety communication and initiatives
- Perform other duties as required by the QA & Safety Manager
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of technical experience in the Aviation Industry
- Holder of Part 66 License/equivalent or Engineering degree
- Trained and experienced in Quality Auditing
- Knowledge of Safety and Risk management policies
- Knowledge of OH&S and Environmental requirements (OHS qualified)
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
