Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Supervise Q.C. Technicians' activities and provide necessary guidelines.
  • QC, Lab & People management.
  • Daily work planning for the QC team.
  • QC lab budget preparation.
  • Meet site (Quality) Standards and compliance with legal statutory requirements as per international & Government standards

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Food Safety and Quality Culture

  • Responsible for identifying and promptly reporting any food safety or quality risks, hazards, or incidents observed in the work area.
  • Actively participate in food safety and quality training programs and culture-building initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards in daily operations.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Culture

  • Take accountability for personal safety and contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by identifying and reporting potential risks or unsafe conditions.
  • Participate in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) training, awareness programs, and emergency preparedness drills.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental sustainability practices in line with ISO 14001 standards, including resource conservation and waste management practices.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of quality, safety, and environmental management systems.
  • Support initiatives aimed at achieving company goals for food safety, product quality, employee well-being, and environmental sustainability.

Supervision of Subordinates

Organize and supervise the activities and work of sub ordinates (Quality control supervisors, Microbiologists, Quality control assistants and Quality control casuals) to ensure that all work within the specific area of quality control and inspection is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.

Products Release

  • Ensure proper inspection for in-process and finished goods, and segregate nonconforming products to ensure that all products released are of the required standards.
  • Releasing finished goods through MFG –Pro system
  • Hold finished goods analysis and disposition.

Customer Complaints Handling

  • Handle customer complaint as per company customer response program.
  • Direct consumer complaints handling.
  • Study / analyze customer complaints to initiate the corresponding corrective and/preventive action.
  • Product recall coordination in case of recall situation arises

Budgets & Cost control

  • Contribute to the preparation of the Quality budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget.
  • Identify and facilitate cost improvement opportunities in Quality department.
  • Maintain Quality lab and Microbiological lab inventory as per requirement
  • Assemble cost control and statistical data, as needed, in order to support in quality objectives

MIS & Reports

  • Prepare MIS statements and reports pertaining to QC timely and accurately to meet department requirements, policies and standards.
  • Preparing Weekly and monthly Quality review reports
  • Rejected FG writ-off and Production Trial write-off reports preparation
  • Customer / Consumer complaints analysis and investigation report preparing and communicating to relevant parties.
  • Preparing Trial protocols along with QA process specialist

Documentation and Record keeping

  • Prepare and implement standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Control the utilization, handling and storage of Quality control records, and keep a copy of quality standards and other referential specifications to maintain the necessary documentation in-case of future requirements.
  • Maintain Updated program, procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain relevant SPPS,BOM and Batch cards

Other relevant QC activities

  • Apply and ensure adherence to all approved operational techniques, activities, work instruction, batch cards and inspection plans in order to avoid any faulty, defective or unfit products.
  • Monitoring Quality index
  • Monitoring Microbiological analysis report
  • Monitoring warehouse NRB pop-up
  • Monitoring retention samples storage and analysis
  • Monitoring warehouse damaged finished goods and Branch returns finished goods
  • Ensure good laboratory practices are followed and Lab facility complies the GMP / GHK requirement.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in food technology, chemistry/Applied Chemistry/Bio tech.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 8– 10 years of relevant experience in Quality control and assurance in beverage manufacturing.
