Job description

Job Purpose
Quality Inspector responsibilities include checking all inbound deliveries before receipt. The role involves inspecting all received products to ensure they meet Panda Specifications (where available) and that no sub-standard products enter the Panda Food Chain. The inspector must ensure compliance with local (SASO/ SFDA) and international quality and food safety standards.

Functional Responsibilities:

1. QC - Produce / Deli
2. Schedule and prepare for receiving fresh deliveries for the day.
3. Follow the DC receiving SOP for product receiving plans and apply sampling plans for inspection in conjunction with the TL.
4. Check the temperature of vendor vehicles and products before offloading and before dispatching deliveries to stores.
5. Perform product inspections and make recommendations to the TL and Assistant QC Manager on whether to receive or reject deliveries based on set product specifications.
6. Record all non-conformities of received/rejected items with pictures and report them to the TL.
7. Accurately complete all required documents, including the receiving log and inspection checklist, on time.
8. Ensure proper storage practices according to product categories and storage conditions.
9. Ensure conformance to Panda Receiving Processes.
10. Check Brix and firmness for relevant fruits based on specifications.
11. Monitor the pest control system in the DC to prevent pest infestations.
