Responsibilities
- Support project and operational activities as directed by the line manager, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct detailed audits, assessments, and investigations into product and/or process failures, utilising data analysis techniques to identify root causes and trends.
- Represent the Quality Department as the project Quality Assurance Specialist, ensuring contractual quality conditions, company requirements, and Lifecycle Management (LCM) standards are achieved.
- Develop and support Quality Plans aligned with LCM and business objectives. Leverage data insights to enhance planning effectiveness.
- Generate comprehensive reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights on project activities, quality metrics, and performance trends, ensuring clarity and transparency for stakeholders.
- Support day-to-day communication, tracking, and reporting of quality issues and resolutions through written reports, presentations, and data visualisation tools.
- Assess business areas for compliance with quality standards by performing audits, analysing data, and identifying process inefficiencies. Follow up with corrective actions within agreed timelines.
- Utilise process streamlining methodologies to identify and implement improvements in quality workflows, reducing waste and increasing efficiency.
- Assist third-party assessors by providing guidance, resolving queries, and ensuring audit processes are streamlined through data support and documentation review.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of quality and assurance training programs, incorporating data-driven insights to enhance learning outcomes.
- Review quality documents for compliance with company and ISO standards, leveraging data analysis to verify adequacy and identify potential gaps.
- Maintain and enhance reporting systems by integrating advanced analytics, trend analysis, and process metrics to support proactive quality management.
Job Requirements
- The jobholder shall have recognised engineering trade qualification or equivalent certification preferably within aerospace/defence or highly regulated industries.
- The jobholder shall have an engineering / technical background preferably within aerospace/defence or highly regulated industries.
- The jobholder shall have a minimum of 3 years\' working experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Management environment.
- The jobholder shall be proficient in using quality management software, MS Office Suite, and data analysis and visualisation tools.
- The jobholder should have strong understanding of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001 standards, and familiarity with BAE Systems’ current Quality Management System.
- The jobholder should have experience in conducting audits, assessments, and investigations with data analysis skills to identify root causes and process improvements.
- The jobholder should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports, presentations, and technical documentation for diverse audiences, including external customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- The jobholder should be proactive in planning, organising, and executing tasks to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company quality standards, including Lifecycle Management (LCM) requirements.
- The jobholder should demonstrates sound judgment based on practical experience, with the ability to evaluate options and adapt procedures to unique or unforeseen circumstances.
- The jobholder should have the ability to assess business areas for compliance, analyse data, and implement process improvements that positively impact overall quality performance.
- The jobholder should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision, yet effectively collaborating and exchanging ideas with a diverse range of audiences.
- The jobholder should be diplomatic and tactful when dealing with internal teams, external customers, and suppliers, especially during audits, fault investigations, and quality reviews.
- The jobholder should be experienced in preparing and delivering formal reports, presentations, and verbal communications related to quality audits, assessments, and corrective actions.
