A leading company in the manufacturing sector seeks a Quality Control Inspector to ensure that pipes and couplers meet established quality standards. The role involves in-process inspections, testing, and compliance checks, requiring strong skills in QC inspection and engineering drawing interpretation.
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for ensuring that all Pipes and Couplers are manufactured according to the established quality standards. Inspect each item and stamp QC OK when ready for release to the Final Warehouse.
Responsibilities / Performance Measures
Policies & Procedures
Comply with operational procedures and instructions when performing all job tasks and activities.
In-process Inspection
Ensure only approved and QC-accepted raw materials are used in manufacturing.
Ensure the production process complies with technical Know-How documents & Quality Assurance Procedures.
Conduct refractive index checks of epoxy resin/hardener mixes.
Monitor ambient temperature and humidity.
Witness production processes to ensure adherence to Raw Material Calculations and Machine Setups.
Report non-conformances immediately for corrective action.
Online / Offline Inspection of Pipes and Couplers
Inspect products as per drawings and inspection/testing programs.
Select QC samples during production as per inspection plans and project ITPs.
Trading Materials Inspection
Inspect purchased products from other units or suppliers for compliance.
Ensure quality of locking strips, gaskets, O-rings, and flat gaskets meets requirements.
Non-Destructive Testing
Conduct tests as per ITP requirements.
Witness routine hydro tests for Pipes and Couplers.
Destructive Testing
Perform destructive tests according to ITP and client agreements.
Monitor survival tests to ensure climatic conditions do not affect results.
Report Preparation, TPI Inspection, and Release
Prepare QC reports and Manufacturing Record Books.
Coordinate final inspections with Customer and Client TPIs, performing additional tests as required.
Stock Counting
Lead small teams during stock counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Conduct monthly raw material stock counts and report findings.
Mould & Socket Sleeve Inspection
Inspect moulds and sleeves at the factory or supplier’s premises to ensure compliance with engineering drawings.
HSE
Follow safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
Use PPE and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Report safety issues and participate in audits and incident reviews.
Skills
Candidates should have experience in steel thread inspection per API standards, QC inspection and testing, reading engineering drawings, report preparation, and using measuring/testing equipment.
