Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a QA/QC Specialist for a Rail/Metro project in Saudi Arabia. You will provide QA/QC support, audits and coordination across program management, engineering and construction teams to ensure compliance with client specifications.

Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, you will help drive quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, at least eight years of QA/QC experience in heavy infrastructure or rail, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or equivalent) required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control on infrastructure, civil engineering or rail projects.
• Excellent English language skills, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Stop work to address health, safety or environmental breaches.
• Conduct audits to verify plans and procedures are followed with documented evidence.
• Coordinate inspections and testing activities with construction staff.
• Monitor Contractors QA/QC plans and supervise QC inspectors on site.
• Maintain surveillance of ITPs, materials specs, tolerances and traceability.
• Plan daily inspection activities and site surveillances.

Context

The QA/QC Specialist will provide quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) support activities on assigned functional areas of the Rail/Metro project to ensure that they are in accordance with the client’s and contractual specifications.

The QA/QC Specialist will report to the QA/QC Manager and will also regularly interact with representatives from a variety of functional groups, including program management, engineering and construction

Missions/Main Duties

• To STOP the work, in the event of identifying any activity where serious breach of Health, Safety or Environmental standard is witnessed.
• To conduct audits to verify that plans & procedures are being followed, and documentary evidence is produced and maintained (Desirable, non-essential)
• To coordinate with the construction staff. Plan in advance any necessary inspections and testing activities.
• In respect to the adherence to the Contractors Project Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans & Procedures by the Contractors their Sub - Contractors and their Suppliers in the first instance by closely monitoring the works.
• Maintain surveillance of DB Contractors QC Inspectors, collaborate with Inspectors.
• Site visits for visual verification of procedure adherence, feedback from NCR's and feedback from progress meetings and individual reporting of concerns from general workforce, Supervisors and Management.
• Ensure As-Built Quality Records are produced in respect to the ITPs.
• Surveillance of ITP content and the required compilation of records referenced within in respect to materials specifications, tolerances, standards, there certification to compliance, their traceability and their use in the realisation of the product.
• Temperatures where applicable, the timely taking of samples, their handling, curing, storage and testing.
• The existence of authorised for use ITPs at the workplace, beforeduring the start of works activities.
• Ensure site QA/QC compliance through on site surveillance or via QC Inspector reporting. Visual, Feedback and written reporting.
• To plan daily inspection activities and surveillances.

Profile/Skills

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with experience gained within heavy infrastructure, civil engineering, or rail & metro projects.
• Knowledge of QAQC principles tools & techniques, ideally a quality qualification, or membership of a professional quality body.
• A minimum of 8 years' experience in quality assurance and quality control on either infrastructure, civil engineering or rail projects
• Excellent English language, verbal, reading and writing skills
