About the location:

The Red Sea will be a premier luxury beachside destination along 200 km of coastline in Saudi Arabia, between Umluj and Al Wajh. The Four Seasons Resort on Shura Island will feature 149 rooms and suites with stunning views, six restaurants and lounges, meeting and event spaces, a marine discovery centre, Kids for All Seasons, and various leisure facilities including a spa, tennis courts, pools, and beaches. The development emphasizes sustainability, renewable energy, and conservation zones, offering an exceptional travel and lifestyle experience.

Role Overview:

The Purchasing Manager oversees the Purchasing department, ensuring all hotel departments receive supplies and materials efficiently and within budget. The role involves managing procurement activities, maintaining vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with policies, and coordinating with departments to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and coordinate purchasing operations for all hotel departments, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.
  2. Maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality and pricing standards.
  3. Ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate purchasing policies.
  4. Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages.
  5. Prepare and manage the purchasing budget.
  6. Track and report on purchasing performance, seeking cost savings and process improvements.
  7. Collaborate with departments to understand their needs and procure accordingly.
  8. Oversee receiving and inspection of goods to ensure quality and compliance.
  9. Maintain proper documentation for all transactions.
  10. Stay informed about market trends and supplier options to ensure value.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • At least 2 years of purchasing experience, with a minimum of 1 year in a managerial role.
  • Experience in a hotel or hospitality setting is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement systems and processes.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office.
