The opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Project Supply Chain Manager to join our team. In this role, you will directly report to the HBU (GPG) Supply Chain Manager of Hitachi Energy – Business Unit and functionally to the Local Operating Unit Manager. You will work closely with the local Tender Project Team to establish the Tender Sourcing Plan (TSP) based on client tender specifications and PG global/territory sourcing strategies, facilitating its adoption during the tender process.
How you’ll make an impact
You will participate proactively in Tender/Capture Team activities during kick-offs and tender meetings for target projects. Your responsibilities include identifying sourcing opportunities, understanding critical commercial, fiscal, and legal conditions of the tender, and ensuring these are reflected in bidding documentation. You will develop schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets to support procurement requirements, issue the Tender Sourcing Plan, and collaborate with tender teams to select suppliers and obtain necessary approvals. Additionally, you will document the TSP, communicate it to relevant stakeholders, and ensure supplier quotations remain valid until purchase orders are finalized. Your role also involves coordinating sourcing review data, staffing SCM resources, managing project schedules and costs, and negotiating purchase terms with suppliers. Compliance with health, safety, and business ethics standards is essential, as is maintaining accurate records of claims and opportunities, planning transportation, and ensuring procurement activities align with financial and contractual requirements. Your background
The ideal candidate has a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in project environments and supply chain functions, with at least 2 years in procurement of tailored equipment, is essential. Knowledge of large, complex, or turnkey contracts and strong commercial/legal expertise are desirable. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, a results-driven mindset, and the ability to interface effectively with various stakeholders are also required.
