The opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Project Supply Chain Manager to join our team. In this role, you will report directly to the HBU (GPG) Supply Chain Manager of Hitachi Energy – Business Unit, and functionally to the Local Operating Unit Manager. You will collaborate closely with the local Tender Project Team to establish the Tender Sourcing Plan (TSP) based on client tender specifications and PG global/territory sourcing strategies, ensuring its adoption during the tender process.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Participate proactively in Tender/Capture Team meetings during project kick-off and tender progress stages.
- Identify sourcing opportunities and critical commercial, fiscal, and legal conditions of the client’s tender specifications, ensuring these are reflected in bidding documentation.
- Develop schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets to support procurement requirements for tenders and projects.
- Issue the Tender Sourcing Plan (TSP) based on overall tender strategy and sourcing conditions, aligned with PG global/territory strategies.
- Collaborate with tender teams to identify new suppliers, manage supplier changes, and secure customer approval for the supplier list.
- Document the TSP using the Business Unit standard template or retrieve from Project Procurement.
- Communicate the TSP to relevant stakeholders, including Global, Division, BU, and Territory Category Leaders, as well as Lead Strategic Sourcing Managers.
- Develop and issue a list of vendors (subcontractors) for the bid, ensuring quotation validity until purchase order placement or tender loss confirmation.
- Provide sourcing information for risk reviews and coordinate related data for inclusion.
- Manage staffing for SCM resources on projects.
- Be accountable for project schedule and cost related to SCM activities.
- Identify sourcing opportunities and critical contractual conditions.
- Establish project-specific terms & conditions in collaboration with Contracts and Project Managers, and negotiate purchase orders.
- Ensure timely and accurate purchase order issuance, approval, and release.
- Monitor compliance with health, safety, and business ethics standards.
- Coordinate with finance for procurement activities and payment issues.
- Ensure compliance with group, division, and BU instructions and guidelines.
- Record potential claims or counterclaims related to delays or documentation issues, and manage their closure.
- Plan transportation logistics, customs, and trade applications.
- Ensure purchase order generation and invoice reconciliation meet local requirements.
- Maintain an up-to-date claims and opportunities register for review by project teams and management.

Your background
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a relevant qualification.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a project environment.
- At least 5 years of experience in a supply chain role.
- Minimum 2 years in procurement of tailored equipment.
- Strong knowledge of processes in large, complex, or turnkey industrial contracts.
- Solid understanding of the commercial and legal aspects of purchasing.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Drive for results and innovative solutions.
- Ability to interface effectively with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
