JASARA PMC is a leading project management consultancy firm, and we are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager - Design (Infrastructure) to join our team. As the Project Manager - Design (Infrastructure), you will play a crucial role in overseeing the design and development of various projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for managing the entire design process from conceptualization to execution, including project delivery of consultants and contractors (on cost, on time, and adhering to client requirements and company standards), as well as delivery partner and team performance and outcomes. The role will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management, engineering, and design technical leaders to create opportunities for efficiency and innovation. The role is responsible for maintaining compliance with QA/QC procedures, including the deliverables review QA/QC process.

Responsibilities
  • The Project Manager will collaborate with their team, focusing on delivering innovative solutions that provide superior outcomes. They will provide consistent leadership and support client focus and responsiveness, helping to anticipate client needs.
  • Lead and manage the design and construction process from inception to implementation for infrastructure projects, including disciplines such as geometric, traffic engineering, and pavements designs.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams (architects and engineers), clients, contractors, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and create innovative design solutions that satisfy client needs and comply with local codes and standards.
  • Ensure smooth coordination with internal and external design teams to deliver high-quality design documents and drawings, adhering to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Lead the team to ensure design deliverables are provided by the consultants according to their contracts and project timelines.
  • Perform design reviews and provide guidance and feedback to design teams.
  • Conduct regular design review meetings, providing technical guidance and support to clients, consultants, contractors, and team members.
  • Proactively monitor and track project progress, resolve design-related challenges, and report on these issues promptly.
  • Review design progress, identify risks, and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain meticulous project documentation, including design records, change orders, and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders for seamless project progression from design to handover.
  • Compile and present reports and visual presentations on designs, reviews, costs, and progress.

Set up and chair meetings with clients, consultants, design teams, and stakeholders, capturing minutes as necessary.

  • Comply with client governance requirements.
  • Oversee and manage project interfaces within the delivery program.
  • Prepare and present design reports, presentations, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A 4-year bachelor's degree in civil engineering is necessary.
  • An Engineering Master's degree is desirable.
  • Registration as a Chartered Civil Engineer is necessary (or similar).
  • Registration as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management and design experience, specifically in managing transportation engineering projects.
  • Management experience in infrastructure design and implementation across disciplines such as geometric, traffic engineering, and pavements.
  • Experience with geotechnical and hydrology design is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software and tools.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of industry and local standards, codes, and regulations.
