Project Planning & Coordination:
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Establish and implement strategies to ensure project milestones are achieved.
Team Management:
- Lead a team of professionals (engineers, architects, and site managers).
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team remains motivated and focused on meeting project objectives.
- Conduct regular meetings to review progress and address any issues that may arise.
Budget & Cost Management:
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and within the allocated limits.
- Review and approve financial documents, including project estimates, change orders, and invoices.
- Manage resource allocation efficiently to maximize value and minimize waste.
Quality Control:
- Ensure construction work meets required standards, specifications, and regulations.
- Perform regular site inspections to monitor quality and safety standards.
- Address and resolve any quality or safety issues that may arise during construction.
Client & Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, stakeholders, and contractors.
- Prepare and present reports on project progress, risks, and solutions to senior management and clients.
- Address client concerns and expectations to ensure satisfaction.
Risk & Problem Management:
- Identify potential risks related to construction, design, and materials, and implement proactive solutions.
- Resolve issues on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
- Ensure all required permits and approvals are in place before work begins.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure the project complies with all relevant local and international laws, building codes, and regulations.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation for future reference and audits.
Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum 20 years of experience in project management, with a focus on large-scale construction or architectural projects.
- Proven experience managing mega projects from concept to completion.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, architectural design, and building codes.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
- PMP or other project management certifications.
- Experience with LEED or other sustainability certifications.
- Knowledge of the local regulatory environment and construction industry standards.
