Job Summary:
The Lead EHS will lead the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) strategy across the business unit operations, ensuring the highest standards of workplace safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a BU EHS strategy aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Establish performance targets, KPIs, and metrics to measure and improve EHS compliance and performance across all locations.
- Create, maintain, and enforce BU EHS policies, ensuring adherence to all relevant international, regional, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to regional EHS teams, fostering a proactive safety culture.
- Design and oversee EHS training programs to educate employees on best practices, regulatory changes, and safe behaviors.
- Lead efforts to minimize the environmental impact of operations, including waste reduction, emissions control, and energy conservation.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive sustainability projects and initiatives.
- Develop and implement crisis management plans for handling emergencies and ensure all teams are trained on emergency protocols.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, regional EHS teams, and external stakeholders to communicate EHS initiatives, performance, and risks.
- Prepare and present EHS performance reports and improvement plans to the senior leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or environmental science, Occupational Health.
- Minimum of 10+ years of EHS experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role within a global organization.
- In-depth knowledge of international EHS regulations and best practices.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and executing EHS programs in a large, complex organization.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, CSP, CIH) are mandate.
