Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Financial Analyst to oversee financial management for Oil & Gas (O&G), Power Sector, and EPC projects. The successful candidate will ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and profitability by managing project accounting, cost control, and revenue recognition. This role requires expertise in SAP SD/PS modules, EPC contract financials, and risk analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial, commercial, and tax input to the tendering/sales team, including bonds, letters of credit, and risk assessment.
  • Actively participate in project handover, reviewing financial, tax, and contractual risks (warranty, LDs, provisions) per management guidelines.
  • Advise project teams on proper revenue recognition methods in line with IFRS and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain original and supplementary budgets, ensuring strict financial oversight to prevent cost overruns.
  • Develop financial plans covering tax (VAT, WHT), revenue recognition, billing/collection, payment securities (LCs, bonds), and currency risk management.
  • Conduct post-period reviews to identify risks (cost overruns, receivables, LDs, claims) and drive corrective actions with project managers.
  • Prepare and maintain project cash flow projections, ensuring quarterly forecasts stay within ±5% variance from actuals.
  • Oversee monthly unbilled reports, ensure timely invoicing, and collaborate with receivables teams to meet billing targets.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements with zero compliance violations.
  • Drive automation in project reviews, warranty management, and budget approvals to enhance productivity.

Skills

  • 5+ years in project finance/accounting, with 3+ years in O&G, Power, or EPC sectors.
  • Advanced SAP SD & PS module proficiency (project structuring, billing, revenue recognition).
  • Strong knowledge of EPC contract financials (FIDIC, NEC, or similar).
  • Expertise in cost control, IFRS/GAAP revenue recognition, and financial risk management.
  • Advanced Excel (Power Query, macros, pivot tables) and data visualization (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA/CMA/ACCA preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
