Job description

Aramco energizes the world economy.

Aramco occupies a special position in the global energy industry. We are one of the world’s largest producers of hydrocarbon energy and chemicals, with among the lowest Upstream carbon intensities of any major producer.

With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramco’s value to society.

Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a forward-looking view of the future, born of our nine decades of experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom’s vast hydrocarbon resources. This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely on the vital and reliable energy that we supply.

We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.

We are seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to join the Unconventional Resources Maintain Potential Projects Department (URMPPD).

The URMPPD is responsible for the tie-in of more than 500 gas wells over the next two years throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with significant focus in the Jafurah area.

Role Summary

The primary responsibility of the Mechanical Engineer is to oversee the tie-in of gas well projects and associated facilities, including pipelines, trunk lines, flowlines (metallic and non-metallic), remote headers, overhead transmission lines, and water disposal wells. The role emphasizes safety, high quality, and cost and schedule optimization to maintain the company’s maximum sustainable gas production from unconventional resources. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with diverse resources and to grow within the company, requiring a global mindset to think globally and act locally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the execution of UR Maintain Potential facilities from scope review to commissioning and post-completion analysis.
  • Coordinate the review of scope content from technical and financial documents.
  • Prepare accurate estimates for gas well tie-ins and related facilities.
  • Guide planning, monitor expenditures, and control costs and schedules for UR facilities.
  • Coordinate procurement activities, especially for long-lead and Aramco-supplied materials.
  • Review construction activities, including site visits.
  • Maintain comprehensive project records and facilitate post-project analysis.
  • Prepare construction contracts and technical documentation for awards.
  • Review bids for compliance with policies and scope.
  • Ensure construction meets Saudi Aramco standards and specifications.
  • Supervise construction activities to ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Approve contract payments and variations.
  • Monitor project start-up and spare parts requirements.
  • Maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, logs, and reports.
Minimum Requirements

  • Engineering license preferred. Knowledge of engineering practices, US/Aramco codes, standards, and specifications required.
