Project Director – Oil and Gas – Mega Project

Minimum Requirements:
- Mechanical background with 20 – 25 years of experience in the oil or gas industry.
Skills Required:
- BS Engineering – Mechanical and registered as a professional engineer with significant experience of 25 years.
- Experience in the oil and/or gas industry, or similar process industry, managing mega projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project planning and execution management.
- Middle East and Saudi experience are a plus.
- In-depth understanding of project management and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields.
- Considerable knowledge of the company’s established guidelines, procedures, and practices as well as other departments, suppliers, and contractors.
- Proficiency in planning and control methods.
- In-depth understanding of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria.
- Extensive knowledge of standard project management methods and techniques, and principles and practices of the area of specialization.
- Capacity to determine program objectives and requirements and to develop standards and guides for diverse project activities.
Main Duties:
- Coordinates and directs all functional managers to ensure full compliance with all project requirements.
- Accountable and fully responsible for meeting project objectives and Company directions.
- Overall responsibility for obtaining the necessary project resources to plan and execute the work.
- Plans, schedules, and organizes all phases of a large project.
- Monitors and controls expenditures.
- Ensures quality and safety standards and procedures are followed.
- Participates in studies, project definition, and technical bid preparation for projects.
- Determines the need for investigation and modifications.
- Participates in the development of long-range plans.
- Establishes project objectives and priorities.
- Provides expert advice on designs, processes, and other project activities.
Authority/Leadership Responsibilities:
- Makes staffing decisions and provides employees with training and development opportunities.
- Proposes and manages department budget and participates in the development of the unit budget.
- Accountable for quality of work of subordinates, including those who supervise others.
- Approves timesheets.
