Our client is a global engineering, manufacturing, and construction firm delivering large-scale energy infrastructure across the power generation and electricity transmission sectors. They build infrastructure that drives the energy transition.
We are seeking an experienced Project Director to take full leadership over multi-site EPC high-voltage substation projects across Saudi Arabia.
This is a senior-level opportunity for someone with a strong background in delivering complex EPC power projects, overseeing engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning across multi-disciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the successful end-to-end delivery of turnkey EPC HV substation projects, including extensions, retrofits, and new installations.
• Coordinate large teams of internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure seamless execution and integration across all workstreams.
• Own and manage all technical, contractual, financial, and risk elements of the project, including engineering, civil works, manufacturing, delivery, erection, and commissioning.
• Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, on budget, and in line with quality and customer expectations.
• Define and oversee project execution strategy, planning, and stakeholder engagement.
• Participate in major tender reviews, evaluating project risks and opportunities and supporting the commercial strategy.
• Provide input into the budgeting and forecasting process, covering sales, cash flow, and contribution margin (CCM).
• Drive contract management, including claims, variations, and commercial dispute resolution, in coordination with legal and finance teams.
• Actively participate in decisions that impact cash, quality, delivery, gross margin, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure full compliance with internal and client EHS standards, including implementation of Zero Deviation Plans across sites.
• Lead regular progress reviews, project governance meetings, and team performance evaluations.
• Maintain strong relationships with major clients, partners, subcontractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Desired Candidate Profile
Requirements:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
• Minimum 15 years of experience managing large-scale EPC projects in the power transmission or generation sectors
• Proven track record delivering 132kV–400kV HV substations from design through commissioning
• Deep understanding of EPC contract execution, project financials, construction strategy, and risk management
• Strong leadership, commercial negotiation, and communication skills
• Experience working with Saudi stakeholders such as SEC or Aramco.
• Fluent in English & Arabic
