Job description

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a highly skilled Project Director for Utilities, ICT, and Fiber Optics. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of projects related to utilities, information and communication technology (ICT), and fiber optics within the Qiddiya development. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring that our utility and communication infrastructure meets the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and innovation, contributing to Qiddiya's transformative vision.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, inspires, and promotes a strong health, safety, and well-being culture across the project, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational standards.
  • Demonstrates the capability to conduct thorough safety investigations, audits, and inspections to maintain a proactive risk management approach.
  • Acts as a role model for leadership behaviors that reflect the Qiddiya Values at all times.
  • Fosters a high-performance culture by providing clear direction, continuous feedback, and timely recognition of outstanding contributions.
  • Creates an inclusive work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and accountability among all team members.
  • Provides visible leadership and is committed to succession planning, effective talent retention strategies, and active mentoring and sponsorship of staff.
  • Leads seamless coordination across design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning functions to ensure timely delivery of assets in line with approved designs, cost plans, and milestone schedules.
  • Possesses strong landscape and public realm experience in both development and construction phases, having worked in dual capacities as a contractor and client representative.
  • Works in close partnership with fellow directors and senior management to enhance project integration, manage key interfaces, and ensure alignment with broader program objectives.
  • Represents the project effectively in QIC control committees and relevant governance groups as required.
  • Leads comprehensive project review processes to ensure transparency, accurate progress reporting, and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the project.
  • Collaborates efficiently with commercial, contracts, and cost teams to ensure financial discipline and successful project execution within budget.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of various contract formats and their associated risks and benefits, applying this knowledge to safeguard project interests.
  • Applies advanced continuous improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proactively identifies, manages, and mitigates project delivery risks through the implementation of robust control mechanisms


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Project Management or Constructions Management or a related field
  • 15+ years of experience in project management with specific experience with utilities, ICT, or fibre optics
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects from conception through to completion
  • Strong knowledge of utility systems, ICT infrastructure, and fiber optics technology
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with strong organizational skills
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is preferred
