Job Purpose

The Aid for Trade Initiative for Arab States (AfTIAS 2.0) Program is a regional trade development initiative aimed at enhancing trade competitiveness and economic integration among Arab countries. Led by the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), a member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, AfTIAS 2.0 builds on the achievements of its first phase (AfTIAS 1.0) and aims to support Arab States in overcoming trade-related challenges.

In this context, the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), as the host of the AfTIAS 2.0 Project Coordination and Management Unit (PCMU), is seeking to hire an experienced and self-motivated Program Officer for the AfTIAS 2.0 PCMU. The Program Officer will be instrumental in ensuring efficient program management at project, administrative, and governance levels. The selected candidate will provide high-level project management and administrative support, working closely with internal and external partners and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of approved projects and compliance with program governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
  1. Under the supervision of the AfTIAS 2.0 Program management team, provide technical assistance, quality project management, and administrative support to the program.
  2. Follow up on the progress of AfTIAS 2.0 project implementation in cooperation with the Program Coordinator.
  3. Support the preparation and organization of AfTIAS 2.0 Program governance meetings and related documents.
  4. Provide the AfTIAS 2.0 Trust Fund Manager with necessary data in coordination with the ITFC Finance Department.
  5. Prepare reports, executive summaries, and analyses of studies and reports.
  6. Draft responses to queries and correspondence from internal and external partners, as directed by the Line Manager.
  7. Assist in research and studies as needed for the AfTIAS Program.
  8. Support AfTIAS 2.0 Program Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) activities.
  9. Build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  10. Assist in preparing the monthly, quarterly, and yearly activity calendars.
  11. Support ITFC Corporate Communications in covering the AfTIAS 2.0 program and activities.
  12. Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager, Division Manager, or General Manager.
Qualifications and Competencies
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field.
Professional Experience and Skills
  • At least 6 years of experience in project management and/or administrative support, preferably in a development organization or context.
  • High proficiency in MS Office; experience with project management software is an advantage.
  • Some knowledge of international trade and technical cooperation programs, especially in the Arab Region, is advantageous.
  • Strong soft skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently with integrity, efficiency, and professionalism, respecting diverse backgrounds.
Language Skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English is mandatory.
  • French language skills are preferable.
Years of Experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience.
