Job description
Overview

Monthly Basic Salary (Market related, Negotiable)

We’re looking for a hands-on Professional Services Engineer who is passionate about solving real-world security challenges and helping customers stay ahead of attackers. This role sits at the intersection of technical problem-solving, customer engagement, and creative security engineering. You’ll work closely with customers to ensure they get the most out of security solutions, while also contributing to new ideas and enhancements that keep defenders one step ahead.

What You’ll Do

As a Professional Services Engineer, you’ll wear several hats:

  • Guiding customers through deployments and optimisations.
  • Writing scripts to automate rollouts and improve efficiency.
  • Brainstorming and building new ways to trip up attackers.
  • Collaborating with teams to bring innovative detection ideas to life.
Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with customers to understand their security challenges and goals.
  • Deliver hands-on walkthroughs, product demonstrations, and training sessions.
  • Build scripts and automation tools to streamline deployments.
  • Review and optimise customer configurations and run health checks.
  • Research and build proof-of-concepts for new detection capabilities.
  • Collaborate internally to refine processes, tooling, and documentation.
  • Act as an advocate for customer needs and feedback.
Location
  • Worldwide (Remote-friendly).
  • If based in South Africa (Cape Town or Johannesburg), occasional office visits are welcomed but not required.
Key Skills

You don’t need to tick every box, but here’s what we value:

  • Scripting & automation – Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Security mindset – Understanding attacker behaviours (initial access, lateral movement, reconnaissance, etc.).
  • Technical fundamentals – Networking (TCP/IP, DNS), APIs/HTTP/S, Windows and Linux.
  • Curiosity – You’re constantly asking, How does this work? and How can I break it?
  • Communication skills – Able to engage effectively with both technical engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus Points For
  • Experience in penetration testing, incident response, or threat detection.
  • Prior exposure to deception/honeypots.
  • Contributions to security tooling or open-source projects.
  • Experience working with international customers and distributed teams.

You’ll be part of a team that values thoughtful, impactful work. We build technology we believe in, for people we respect, to defend against adversaries we understand.
