Job General Objectives:
- Responsible for shift-wise operational supervision and co-ordination of the Nepro Extrusion factories, ensuring high levels of quality, performance and schedule adherence, whilst ensuring controlled and efficient production and achievement of targets and functional objectives. Maintaining tidy, organized & safe work areas and ensuringall employees with-in area of responsibility comply with the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills, Personal Qualities and Training:
- Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills to maintain strong employee relations in a multi-cultural environment.
- Minimum five years' production management experience gained in a modern, lean manufacturing plastics extrusion environment.
- Hands-on experience in plastic extrusion, process optimization and equipment commissioning.
- Health and Safety improvement delivered with-in a structured system like OHSAS 18001.
- Proven ability of deliver results and meeting functional KPI’s.
- Experience with 5S and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs.
- Good time management.
- Ability to make quick, clear decisions.

Tasks and Duties:
- Provides leadership & support, to effectively coordinate production personnel in the meeting of quality standards and production targets, whilst maintaining high levels of motivation and morale.
- Ensures maximum production rates as per machine and tooling capability and subsequent Production Data Sheet (PDS), while maintaining quality standards. Drives cost-effective production to achieve KPI’s, whilst minimizing material loss and wastage and reporting related information regularly to the production Manager.
- Ensures operational metrics are well-known throughout the department and tracks daily progress towards achieving objectives and target OEE.
- Ensures work orders are correctly assigned and that lines are set up correctly in order to reduce rejection and reprocessing.
- To ensure production is efficiently undertaken in order to minimize as best as practically possible, downtime, changeover times, over production, stock outs and shortages of materials and equipment, as well as help ensure optimization of factory output.
- Regularly monitors materials requested, to ensure correct material inventory requesting and usage whilst minimizing stock holding in the factory.
- Supports and monitors adherence to TPM & 5S programs
- Works to ISO9001 and ensures full coherence to procedures and work instructions
- Works with the Quality department to investigate quality concerns and develops and implements corrective solutions.
- Supports and assists implementation of Lean manufacturing principles.
- Liaise with other departments and sections, work colleagues and customer as required, to ensure effective and controlled systems are maintained and company procedures and processes adhered to.
- Ensuring any systems implemented in the section are fully supported taking personal ownership of the process, procedure or system.
- To ensure shift in charge operators and support personnel are trained and competent in their role and in their ability to carry out required tasks.
- Develops staff capabilities through teaching, coaching, establishing high standards, ensuring accountability and reviewing employee performance through one to one sessions.
- To manage sickness and absence within the section as per company absence management procedure, to ensure adequate resource is provided, in order to maintain service levels within the section.
- To actively manage and develop cross functional relationship within operations to ensure a team oriented approach to order fulfilment.
Education/ Training:
- Polymer Technology Diploma- but other relevant experience or education specific to supervision of PVC and CPVC extrusion operations, without a technical qualification will also be considered Quality Systems- ISO 900.
- H&S Training.
- LEAN skills and techniques.
