Job description

The Production Senior Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end production of all sports-related video, digital, and multimedia content that drives the club’s communication, marketing, and fan engagement goals. Reporting directly to the Communication & Media Director, this role oversees the creative direction, technical execution, and delivery of high-quality content including live broadcasts, match highlights, player features, interviews, and behind-the-scenes material. The Producer Senior Manager will inspire and manage the production team, optimize workflows and resources, and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure every project reflects the club’s brand standards, enhances its public image, and supports its strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

1. Content Strategy & Production Management

  • Develop, plan, and manage the club’s sports content calendar in coordination with the Communication & Media Director and Marketing team.
  • Supervise all sports video and multimedia production processes, including pre-production, filming, editing, post-production, and publishing, ensuring output meets club standards.
  • Oversee production of multimedia content including live broadcasts, highlights, interviews, documentaries, training footage, behind-the-scenes features, and promotional videos.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules and resource allocation across all projects.

2. Creative Leadership

  • Guide the creative direction of all content to ensure consistency, originality, and alignment with fan expectations and club values.
  • Collaborate with creative, digital, and marketing teams to produce innovative formats and storytelling approaches that drive fan engagement.
  • Ensure content is optimized for different platforms (TV, web, social media, in-stadium screens).

3. Creative Content Development

  • Conceptualize and produce dynamic, sports-focused content such as match highlights, player profiles, training clips, interviews, promotional videos, and social media features.
  • Collaborate closely with the Communication & Media Director, Marketing, and Digital teams to align content themes with club messaging and campaign objectives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of sports storytelling trends, broadcast technologies, and fan engagement strategies to keep club content competitive and fresh.

4. Technical Oversight & Quality Control

  • Oversee all technical aspects of production including cameras, sound, lighting, editing software, ensuring the highest technical and creative standards.
  • Implement review processes and style guidelines to ensure all video content adheres to club branding and communication policies.
  • Research and recommend upgrades to production equipment and software to enhance production value and efficiency.

5. Operational Excellence

  • Manage production timelines, workflows, and budgets to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within approved costs.
  • Oversee the use of production equipment, tools, and facilities, ensuring best-in-class technical standards.
  • Implement quality control processes for all content outputs.

6. External Relations & Compliance

  • Liaise with broadcasters, media partners, sponsors, and production vendors to support collaborative productions and partnerships.
  • Ensure that all productions comply with rights, licensing agreements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiate and manage third-party production contracts and service agreements.

7. Project & Budget Management

  • Prepare and manage production budgets, ensuring efficient use of club resources and delivering value for money.
  • Negotiate with third-party production companies, freelancers, and suppliers to secure services that align with club quality and cost expectations.
  • Ensure all productions comply with rights, licensing, legal requirements.

8. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up to date on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in sports production, broadcast, and digital media.
  • Recommend and implement new tools, platforms, or workflows to enhance production quality and efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Media Production, Communications, Broadcasting, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in production or media preferably in sports, including significant leadership responsibility.
  • Strong portfolio of high-quality sports content across multiple formats and platforms.
  • Creative storytelling abilities with a deep understanding of sports audiences and fan culture.
  • Technical expertise across video and audio equipment, editing software, and live-production setups.
