Job description

Job Summary :

The operator position performs all tasks on the production line under the supervision of skilled operators and Team Leaders.

Production process – Spoolable composite line pipe (RTP) and (RTR) filament winding.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITY & AUTHORITY :

  • Assist in machine set up as per production process run sheets.
  • Load and unload raw materials during preparation and production process.
  • Assist resin mixing in accordance to the procedures and maintains resin levels in baths.
  • Perform visual and manual measurement inspections and record results. Alert Team Leader to defects that are outside acceptable limits.
  • Clean and prepare ovens after every run.
  • Operate equipment that will cut, grind, bevel and test fiberglass pipes to create finished products.
  • Mix various adhesives, resins, coatings, and painting compounds used in the finishing and/or assembly process.
  • Cut parts to be assembled.
  • Fit, sand, assemble and bond parts into assemblies to complete customer orders.
  • Maintain and record specified tolerance/dimensions as required on the manufacturing & inspections reports for accurate inventory management.
  • Operate process-related machines, pallet trucks, and forklifts.
  • Work in extreme temperature conditions.
  • Clean machine parts after every run.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by skilled operators and/or team leaders.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Should be able to communicate in English; Arabic speaking is an added advantage.
  • Qualification: High school or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a plant or manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in production units.
  • Dexterity required for operating machinery and computer.
  • Teamwork - Should be detail-oriented and organized.
  • Forklift driving experience preferred.
  • Practice good housekeeping by maintaining a clean work environment.

Strategic Skills:

  • Ability to understand the manufacturing process.

Operating Skills:

  • Ability to assist machine operators with operations as needed.

Organizational Skills:

  • Cognizance of organizational culture and politics, and appropriately adjust personal style to be effective.

Personal and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a standing position for the entire shift.
  • Ability to accurately use measuring tape and thickness gauge.
  • Ability to recognize visual imperfections and functional defects.
  • Requires working in shifts.
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment (both indoor and outdoor).
  • Work involves frequent lifting of materials and products.
