A leading company in the printing and packaging industry is seeking a Production Operator. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safe work conditions. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented and able to follow strict safety protocols while managing production duties efficiently.
Job Responsibilities & Tasks
Duties include but are not limited to:
Receive factory tickets and production schedule from foreman. Adhere to appropriate product specifications as given in the factory ticket.
Make sure that machine and its environment are safe.
Ensure the semi-finished corrugator sheets are in line with the size and quantity specified in the factory ticket.
Segregate bad sheets from the semi-finished batch before feeding them into the machine.
Efficiently distribute the work to assistant operator and helpers.
Assure that the right production accessory kits are brought to the machine.
Set and operate the machine according to the factory ticket.
Produce a sample quantity and get approval from the quality controller.
Coordinate with quality controllers for measuring customer waste, as applicable.
Inform the converting foreman of production start.
Ensure that production is done with optimum productivity and that all parameters (size, print quality, ink color, scores, cuts, gluing, etc.) are in line with the factory ticket/specifications as applicable.
Monitor the production and segregate non-conforming boxes.
Inform the converting foreman in case of any problems such as with the machine or materials.
Label the produced batch with identification tags and indicate the next machine routing, as applicable.
Fill in the machine production report with all relevant details and hand it over to the converting foreman.
Notify the forklift driver to shift the product.
Inform the foreman of any breakdowns.
Supervise and assist in post-production cleaning and ensure the removal of accessories from the previous order.
Coordinate with the maintenance team during preventive maintenance, breakdowns, and overhauling activities.
Management System Requirements
Before the shift starts, check machine condition and clean the machine as per the daily cleaning form. Ensure machines are clean and free from ink, clich , contamination, etc., and are cleaned again after completing the order.
Ensure products are free from contamination such as oil marks, dust, and ink patches.
Maintain overall machine housekeeping by applying 5S principles (organize tool cabinet, empty pallets, nearby tables, and cleaning tools; do not keep tools on the machine).
Do not use snap-off blades inside the plant.
Handle clich s appropriately and store them on clich racks (do not place on the floor or hang over the machine).
Prepare identification tags on each pallet (semi-finished and finished goods) and display samples on finished product pallets.
Educate the machine crew to wear personal protective equipment such as overalls, safety shoes, hand gloves, facial masks, earplugs, and hairnets for those with long hair.
Ensure all machine covers are closed after maintenance activities.
In case of temporary engineering activity, report to the production team.
Ensure rules on personal hygiene and good manufacturing practices are always followed, as conveyed through periodic Management System training.
