A leading company in Saudi Arabia seeks a Production Manager to achieve production targets within quality and safety standards. You will lead the Assembly, Module & Fabrication Department, ensuring effective management processes, continuous improvement, and a high-performance culture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medium voltage switchgear manufacturing and extensive experience in production management.
Job Purpose
Achieve overall Production Targets as per SOP within the quality standards and specifications set by the Business.
Lead the Assembly, Module & Fabrication Department in Lucy Saudi Arabia.
Job Context
Ensure that all HSE, Quality, Inventory, On Time Delivery, and Productivity Requirements are being followed by Production Team.
Job Dimensions
The Production Manager Role involves regular and close interactions with all functions of LSA Operations. Furthermore, interactions with Internal Sales are often required.
Key Accountabilities
The position is responsible to:
Production Targets:
- Meet the production target of LSA Factory.
- Responsible for managing and controlling overall manufacturing processes starting from Fabrications till final testing.
- Managements skills should be the outstanding capability to keep the employees motivated and committed to achieve higher productivity and quality standards, always.
- Develop a culture among the team members
- Impart and facilitate Training to employees on Product, Process and in any other technical aspects which are required for the overall benefit of the company.
- Effective usage of all machinery and other resources.
- Productivity improvement on a continuous scale and implementing total cycle time (throughput time) reduction processes.
- Timely closure of production orders in D365, bill of material update.
- Initiate steps for ‘Lean manufacturing’ concepts and waste reduction.
- Develop a high-performance culture with the department to increase the productivity.
- Locate or develop new equipment/machinery to automate the production lines.
- Ensure regular communication with employees to make them aware of management directions and objectives.
- Coordination with support functions like Logistics, Contract, Shipping and Quality to ensure that business targets are met on time (OTIF) and discrepancies are always reported/escalated.
- Support Production Engineering Dept. in Development/procurement of fixtures and other process/ productivity/quality improvement tools and tackles.
- BOM validation and error reporting to contracts/Engineering for corrective actions (ECR/ECN process).
- Ensure that machineries and equipment are properly maintained and effectively used. Checklists are always maintained, and discrepancies are reported and resolved through maintenance team.
- Overall responsible for inventory management in production warehouses. Co-ordination with logistics/Contracts for stock accuracy issues and material shortages.
- Encourage and develop a culture of eliminating non productive processes.
Product Quality:
- Responsible for overall product quality. Install and monitor efficient process control techniques to reduce/ eliminate PPA points and improve FPY.
- Customer complaint resolution process: Root cause analysis and Action Plan.
- Responsible for overall housekeeping and setting and driving high 5S standards as per best industrial practices.
- Ensuring that adequate work procedure, quality standards and other manufacturing documents are made available from within or through supporting departments. These documents should be used effectively and available for process audits.
- Ensuring that tools/fixtures/templates, measuring instruments etc. that are used are periodically calibrated as applicable.
Process Improvement and Cost Reduction
- New product/design Developments and prototyping assistance to Engineering team.
- Active participation and driving cost reduction projects. This should one of the major KPIs to excel. The main focus areas to be included are material, process, and consumables.
- Driving continuous improvement teams and initiating smart objective targets through employees.
System Management (D365) & Management Reporting:
- Management reporting on all KPIs- Weekly/Monthly on Factory efficiency, production Efficiency, Smart objectives, and other cost reduction activities.
- Budget Activity for Production Department.
- D365 activities related to the Department.
Training
- Impart Training to customers and personnel from other Lucy group companies on need basis.
HSE
- Facilitate safe working environment for people and implement HSE guidelines and regulations.
- Ensuring HSE systems and procedures are implemented and enforced on a continuous basis. Facilitate safe working environment for people.
- Creating a work environment to meet quality and environment standards- ISO 9001/14001 and prepare for external audits.
General
- To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed in order to maintain and / or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided by the company.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of information relating to the company’s business and staff.
Skills
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Diploma / bachelor’s in mechanical / electrical / Electronic Engineering.
- More than 10 years’ experience in Production Department
- Experience in a Medium Voltage Switchgear or Ring Main Unit (RMU) Manufacturing is mandatory
- Experience in managing Full Assembly & Fabrication Departments
- Experience in Metal Sheet Fabrication through CNC machines and surface finishing processes.
- Fair amount of Electrical Switchgear Products and Assembly knowledge.
- Systems- ISO 9001/14001/ERP/H&S/Computer applications.
- Motivational and training skills.
