Job description

PIPECARE is looking for a professional and experienced Production Engineer to join their organization. Candidates who can join immediately with past experience as Production Engineer have added advantage.

Job Functions, Responsibilities & Authorities
  • Set up the workshop and implement systems for physical and digital stock control, asset movement monitoring, and organized procurement.
  • Assist in running the facility, production lines, machines and manpower to deliver the final product based on company procedures and work process flow.
  • Ensure raw material is available at the workshop based on minimum stock quantity and commercial projects plan, considering sales forecast input to secure the raw material.
  • Assist in preparing and managing the production plan through digital production on ERP.
  • Create yearly or quarterly budget for running the workshop.
  • Maintain weekly/monthly reports for the workshop through digital production on ERP.
  • Resolve technical issues on all production lines: polyurethane, mechanical production, electronics, and assembly.
  • Ensure each production line has a conveyor system plan, input and output, and a workshop manager to implement the conveyor system.
  • Prepare BOM based on mechanical/electronic design.
  • Procure all needed material for production line.
  • Plan and execute all shipments for production, raw material, or final products; ensure no miss and all activities are under direct control.
  • Follow up with supply chain personnel to ensure workshop store has all required raw material.
  • Implement production and improvement plans at all times.
  • Report all technical and workshop running tasks to the Sr. Production Manager or Production Director.
  • Approve material request/service request on ERP to secure necessary production materials and maintain minimum stock.
  • Optimize utilization of resources: machinery, manpower, utilities, consumables.
  • Coordinate workshop activities to complete jobs within allocated time frame, quality parameters, class requirements and budgeted cost.
  • Develop and implement procedures for requisition of bill of materials and other resources; liaise with sub‑contractors for material and payments.
  • Manage budgets for purchases of materials, fixings, fastenings, and machine tools to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Develop and implement a system for regular maintenance service of machinery and breakdown related activities.
  • Submit all required documentation: damage reports, repair procedures, quality tests and results, completion reports, additional work reports.
  • Keep daily attendance and sickness records and detailed work logs for project costing and traceability.
  • Maintain a database of purchased work and by whom for traceability at material and component level.
  • Ensure quality of work: perform incoming and outgoing inspection on all parts and assemblies or delegate it.
  • Maintain safe working practices, keep COSHH information up to date, and ensure all personnel are conversant with it.
  • Keep all procedures and work instructions updated.
  • Protect company assets, resources, manpower, buildings, machines, vehicles.
  • Monitor departmental KPIs.
  • Manage manpower of production line; evaluate team performance and productivity monthly.
  • Manage work orders correctly.
  • Work closely with the quality department to address any NCRs.
  • Run daily meetings and weekly briefings to keep teams focused.
  • Ensure safety of workshop personnel; provide safe workplace, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Implement 5S and other HSEQ standards within the workshop.
  • Conduct final checks for all tools and spares before release to project sites; ensure checklists are signed.
  • Handle administrative work on workshop rent, utilities management, part‑time hiring of lifting equipment, vehicles, and manpower support.
  • Take disciplinary actions against parties not following the process, especially when affecting:
    • Asset value
    • Tool quality
    • Safety
    • Reporting
  • Ensure tools and spare parts are stored in proper condition and suitable environment.
Competency Requirements
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering background or Production Engineer.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Assistant Workshop Manager / Assistant Production Manager.
  • Advanced GMP / Lean manufacturing training and implementation skills.
  • Strong command of English and excellent communication skills.
  • Must be flexible with work hours & timings.

    • Budget adherence
    • No. of rejected outgoing tools/spares (not higher than 3%)
    • No. of rejected incoming spares/tools (not higher than 3%)
    • 0 Human/environmental accidents in workshop
    • Accomplishment of tasks in time

KPI monitoring frequency: once Monthly.

Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Mobility: Must walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
  • Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing to communicate effectively.
  • Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
  • Safety Equipment: Must wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection when needed.
  • Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel to off‑site locations when necessary.
