Production Engineering Job Description
The main purpose of the Production Engineering job is to inspect, check, verify, and test processing plant commissioning.
Principal Accountabilities
- Order and install the correct materials as per specifications.
- Handle areas of the plant dealing with high pressure, ensuring the use of rightly specified materials.
- Understand various cautions when dealing with Oxygen equipment and ATEX-rated equipment in flammable areas.
- Perform mechanical maintenance routines for each equipment, understanding all related issues prior to installation, during testing, and commissioning.
- Carry out pressure testing of new systems after installation.
- Supervise the installation of piping and equipment.
- Use standard operating manuals of all equipment to guide operators and foremen.
- Manage standard spare parts and repair kits for various equipment, ensuring availability during normal operations to address breakdowns.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the direct manager.
Communications and Working Relationships
- Interface with supervisors in Maintenance, Facility & Control Room, Engineers, Production Manager, and Operation Manager.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
- Comply with health and safety guidelines and procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of self and others.
- Identify and report health, safety, or environmental risks to management and suggest measures to address them, cooperating with supervisor instructions.
