Westlakes Recruit is seeking a Product Safety Engineer, Equipment Safety Engineer, or Safety Consultant to support a major defence communications and technology program in Riyadh. This position focuses on design safety, playing a key role in ensuring safety is embedded in complex systems and equipment across the programme lifecycle. Please note: This role is based on-site in Riyadh and therefore requires candidates who are willing to relocate. Key Responsibilities • Develop and manage Safety and Environmental Cases and Safety and Environmental Case Reports. • Create, maintain, and manage Hazard Logs to support the delivery of a safe and compliant system. • Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, including DEFSTAN 00-056. • Apply ASEMS (Acquisition Safety and Environmental Management System) principles and processes across project phases. • Engage with the Defence Land Safety Regulator (DLSR) and ensure alignment with its requirements. • Ensure familiarity and adherence to Safety Function Joint Service Publications (JSPs). • Provide guidance to engineering and delivery teams on design safety requirements and assurance activities. • Significant experience in design safety, product safety, or equipment safety within defence or complex engineering programmes. • Strong understanding of ASEMS and the Defence Land Safety Regulator (DLSR). • Familiarity with Safety Function Joint Service Publications (JSPs). • Experience developing and managing Safety and Environmental Cases and Hazard Logs. • Knowledge of DEFSTAN 00-056 requirements and application. • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and reporting skills.
